Why a Custom Website is so Expensive (Part 2 of 2)
In short, because it takes a lot of time. More time than most outsiders can imagine. But why?
Web 1.0
Go Media’s founders started building custom websites in the 90’s. In those days, a typical website was comprised of the standard Home, About, Services & Contact. This is commonly referred to as a brochure site. It was often static html and rarely changed in a year. There was very little thought going into SEO. There were rarely contact forms. It might have had five graphic images, total. Publicizing your email address was considered perfectly safe. Javascript, on the other hand, was feared by the industry.

An Eye for Design: Building An Affordable Luxury Brand
Kumar Arora is entrepreneur meets designer.
His mother, a student of all things art, and his father a scientist specializing in nano coatings for eyeglass lenses, Arora was surrounded by inspiration. Watching, observing, studying, a student of Cleveland’s Case Western Reserve University and an Economics major at the Ohio State University, it seemed as if he was destined to create something big, something of his own one day.
“Rogue Eyewear has been a project well thought out over the years but is finally coming to fruition.”

What’s Go Media Been Up To?
All is quiet here at Go Media – heads down, noses to the grindstone!
We’ll start with the bad…well, bittersweet news. Our Community Manager, Marissa Mele, has bid us adieu. Our hearts broke as we watched Marissa leave Go Media for the very last time, but we must admit that we’re happy too (read: jealous) – as Marissa is off for warmer weather! At least one of us gets to escape the Cleveland winters. We’ll miss you Marissa!
While we lost one we gained two.
Joining our staff are Simon Birky-Hartmann, new Arsenal Product Manager, and Heather Sakai, taking over as Community Manager.
