Weapons of Mass Creation Fest celebrates its fifth year with a new national team!
Rapidly growing midwestern art, design, and music festival celebrates its fifth year Cleveland’s Gordon Square neighborhood, on August 15-17, 2014
CLEVELAND, February 4, 2014 — Running headstrong from the success of 2013, Go Media’s Weapons of Mass Creation Fest (WMC Fest) is pleased to officially announce WMC Fest 5 returning to Cleveland in August this year!
This year WMC has added new team members to its roster including former WMC speakers Margot Harrington, (Graphic Artist/Entrepreneur, Pitch Design Union, Chicago) and Stewart Curran, (Art Director, CNN, San Francisco) who share duties in curating the phenomenal WMC Speaker Series. In addition to the new team members, Todd Gauman will be returning for his third year as WMC’s Event Director.
Jeff Finley, founder of WMC is excited for the new changes to the WMC Team. “It shows us that WMC is not just a local curiosity, but a national movement built by creative dreamers and doers across the country. We want to continue to showcase a diverse lineup of inspiring speakers and artists so we all can share and learn from each other.”
Margot is excited to be joining the WMC Team along with Stewart as they start to put together an incredible lineup; “Stewart and I will be sharing the role of curating the speaker line-up, as well as emceeing during the festival. We plan to push the conference’s format by integrating a greater degree of multi-media content and formats, along with the usual range of creative voices. Diversity continues to remain our biggest focus as well as keeping the festival as accessible as possible. We are so thrilled and can’t wait to show WMC what we are working on!”
In addition to new team members, WMC will be reformatting some of the very popular programming to make the speakers, art, and music more integrated than ever before with 20 Speakers, 20 nationally featured artists, and 20 bands! There will be a greater offering of breakout sessions, workshops, and more! The grand Cleveland Public Theatre in the Gordon Square Arts District of Cleveland, Ohio will once again be the venue for Weapons of Mass Creation.
